I use these nifty things called Shout color catchers. They work well enough so that I've cut my load amount from 3 to 2 - clothes and towels. I even wash my reds WITH my whites, without anything happening. I don't know if these sheets have worked as well for anyone else, but I've found them to be pretty convenient.
