@Elizabeth: It definitely takes a lot of guts to pursue a liberal arts major, but if you’re willing to do the work, it can be an amazingly fulfilling decision. Good luck, and remember, enjoy it! College doesn’t last forever.

I am so glad I came across this blog! I recently declared being an English major, but I started having my doubts (I was being pressured by the people who wanted me to do something more “practical”). But after reading this post, I feel a lot more confident in pursuing this degree. Thank you so much, Jamie, for this insight!
