@Courtney: That’s a good point, and unfortunately I don’t know the answer because I haven’t gotten to try it myself. Proper drainage would be a must, but as to how long it works, if you want to try it out I suggest contacting the tutorial creator through their Instructables account (linked through their tut post).

We can have plants in our place even if it is too small. All we have to do is to be creative. Plus a little research about herb, flowers and veggies. By the way, that shoe pocket organizer garden is cute!

Thanks for posting this! I’m looking into upgrading to a small townhouse that has no yard and was wondering about how to plant some things. I’d heard of container gardening but I like this much better.

I have just such a shoe organiser that my kids threw out - I hate throwing anything away so it has stayed in the “glory hole”; now I know what to do with it!
